Course description
Exposing the acting process
Psychodynamics workshop entering the film set. We learn to recognize and name the emotions that accompany going into on-camera rehearsals. We learn the basics in psychology, set terminology, actor and actress filming techniques.
During the workshops, we discuss: various rehearsal techniques, how to prepare for shooting, where is our "open field of inspiration", techniques of releasing fear, what is friendly assertiveness. We also discuss the scope of professional competencies of an actor and an actress and learn which of them are true and untrue, considered as belonging to their profession.
As well as we laugh a lot, we feel great, we don't want to go home.

Discussion of the basic issues in the field of neuro-psychodrama, psychology, acting skills, working with the camera, terminology of the set.

Course instructors
Jagoda Szelc
Director and screenwriter. In 2006 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. In 2004 she was a scholarship holder of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2012 she was scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture. In 2018, she graduated with honors from the Directing Department at the Film School in Łódź. Her films have been screened at festivals such as Karlovy Vary, Hot Docs, Cannes Short Corner, New Horizons or Brooklyn Film Festival and many others. Her short movie "Such a landscape" won the main prize for a student film - the Golden Tadpole at the Camerimage Film Festival (2013). In 2017, her film debut "Tower. Bright day" won the award for the best debut and screenplay at the 42nd Polish Film Festival and many other international awards. It was shown at the Berlinale Festival in the prestigious Forum section. In 2018, she became a laureate of Polityka's Passports. In the same year she graduated her second full-length film "Monument" (special award of the 43rd Polish Film Festival). She teaches feature film directing at the Lodz Film School and camera work at the Wrocław AST. She is vegan. A friend of the organization Open Cages.
Przemek Brynkiewicz
A graduate of Cinematography at the Department of Cinematography and Television Production at the Film School in Łódź. As a cinematographer, he has shot pictures for feature and documentary films, as well as cooperation with artists, co-creating works on the borderline of film and video art. He made his debut with the film directed by Mariusz Grzegorzek, which won the main prize "Złoty Pazur" in 2015 in the "Another View" competition at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia. Close cooperation with the director Jagoda Szelc resulted in many productions, of which the film "Tower. A Bright Day" won the award for the best directorial debut at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia in 2017, and the film "Monument" the Special Jury Award in the "Another View" competition in 2018. Since 2020, a member of the Society of Cinematographers (PSC).

We will spend nine days in the enchanting setting of Letnisko Bajka. Overwhelmed by inspiration and serenity, we will embark on the creative process.
