Course description

"Whoever reads a book once, always reads the same thing." Ronald Barthes

Object analysis has been used in the work of actors and directors for centuries. There are very different methods and tools of scene analysis that help to understand in depth the construction of a role. We cannot act or direct a scene that we cannot see and then name. The brain does not see things for which it does not have a nomenclature.

The illiteracy of acting analysis is a symptom of film clichés. The analytical training of scenes in terms of acting construction is a tool that is applied narrowly or not at all, and in my opinion it is the only valid basis for the actor and director, writer or cinematographer's workshop.

In the course, we will analyse scenes from selected film items.
